Welcome to Art By OhnSoon! Thank you for visiting this Etsy shop, where you can find colorful, unique watercolor cards and artwork. I am a thirty-something Korean-American woman, working and living in the greater Seattle area, with my Montanan husband of 6 years.

During the early days of COVID-19 and quarantine, I grabbed on to art and watercolors to cope, even though I barely painted for a decade. On the backs of the paintings, I also wrote letters to friends and family to connect and show appreciation for them. Soon after, with much encouragement from friends and family, I decided to start this small business to share unique, affordable hand-painted cards and illustrations. By June 2020, we opened the Instagram account (@artbyohnsoon) after brainstorming with my husband the name, values, logo design, and brand. After creating several card designs, consulting with friends and family, including my sister-in-law (check out her awesome Etsy shop @TheSleepyYak), and watching many YouTube videos, the shop officially opened on October 26, 2020!

Painting again has been invaluable to me, and I hope that my artwork can bring warmth and a little more brightness to your day as well. As we navigate quarantine and the new normal / pandemic reality, let us stay connected, write letters, reflect, and nurture meaningful relationships - near or far.

• Eco-friendly: We are extremely conscious of protecting our planet earth and minimizing waste. Therefore, our products are shipped in recyclable envelopes and materials (including tissue paper that you can re-use for your own gift giving), with no plastic sleeves.

• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We are passionate about intercultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ICDEI), and plan to soon donate some of the profits to organizations that champion ICDEI efforts and support anti-racism, people of color, and marginalized / underrepresented groups. Ten percent of all profits from February 2021 were donated to Campaign Zero, ONE DC, and Black Lives Matter, in an effort to support our Black community and support anti-racism in the United States. It is a start, and by 2022 we hope to consistently donate a portion of our profits each month.

• Connection: We aim to foster meaningful connections and nurture valuable relationships between our customers and their dear ones.
